This photo is of Horseshoe Bend located on the edge of the Navajo Nation next to Page Arizona. To reach this location you walk up a steep incline of sand to you come to this spectacular view of Navajo sandstone. You are looking over the edge at a 1000 foot drop to the bend of the Colorado River.

My favorite is the bluish hue that accents the lower portions of the canyon. Like looking at clouds, you can spend hours imagining different images formed by the light.

Lower Antelope Canyon where I looked up and spotted a large tree trunk wedged into the opening. Above this canyon where the light is shinning through is actually a very windy desert blowing not only sand down on those of us trying to take photographs but as you can see strong enough to toss a tree in too.

ARTIST NOTES: A couple of miles outside of Page, Arizona is truly a view of another world. Near here they filmed the original "Planet of the Apes" what a great choice because it looks like another planet Looks can be deceiving, what appears to be a calm day in fact had 40 mh winds, preventing me from getting more than a few photos. I was soon chased away by the big storm lurking in the distance.
